Growing Strong in 2019

As we begin this new year, I want to encourage you to purpose in your heart that this will be a year of powerful growth where your life is concerned, a year where you grow stronger as an individual and a year in which every area of your life thrives in a greater way. I believe that God can restore you this year and make you healthier and stronger than you have ever been before. I believe that this is the vision that our Heavenly Father wants all of us to have in our hearts this year. No matter how old or how young you are, and no matter what you may have seen in times past, this is your season to GROW, to flourish, to be healthy, and to become stronger than ever before!

In the same way that a farmer or a gardener plants a seed in order to experience a harvest, let the seed of “GROWING STRONG IN 2019” take root in your heart today and then make plans to water that seed in the coming days by setting new priorities and routines that are life-giving. One of the best things we can do to create this kind of a healthy environment for growth is to keep God and His Word first place. Not in a cold legalistic way, but out of a sincere love for the One who passionately loves us, the One who laid down His life so we could live a new life, a life that is free, healthy, blessed and strong. His words are life-giving, they strengthen us deep within and they bring about the genuine changes that our hearts desire.

We live in a time when words like “genuine” and “authentic” have taken on greater meaning than ever before. Why? The reason is simple… the world that we live in has become full of the exact opposite. Sadly, disingenuous people are all around, many with ulterior motives and hidden agendas. Even the foods we buy have become man-made, chemically treated and processed to the point that they’re not healthy. As a result, many in our generation have switched to organic and non-GMO products because they want something real, something that promotes good health. I believe that the same holds true spiritually!

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”– John 6:63

I believe that our generation wants more than hype and a hollow religous show. They’re looking for something that’s real, something that makes them spiritually healthy and brings true and lasting change to their lives. That’s exactly what Jesus came to bring us and that is what His Word brings into our lives when we receive it. The truth is, there is nothing more genuine, or more pure and authentic than God’s Word and it carries with it the power needed to bring about genuine change in us. The person who falls in love with God’s Word will find much more than historical facts and interesting information. A love for God’s Word positions us to discover and receive real life and real power that brings about real results!

“Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.” – Psalm 119:140 NLT

I want to encourage you today to be a lover of God’s Word in 2019, to fall in love with the truths, teachings, wisdom and promises of God’s Word. For some, it might be for the very first time and for others, it might just be a reminder to put first place what’s most important and truly valuable. Either way, let a love and a passion for Jesus and His Words be kindled in your heart today in a new way! Let His Words take center stage and let the other less important things fade from view. What He has said about you is what’s true and most important! His wisdom is powerful and life-changing when you apply it! His promises cause faith and hope to rise within you! So, let’s choose to love His Word more than ever before and let’s expect to encounter the positive change that His Word can bring to our spirit, soul, body, heart, mind, home and life! Here are seven specific things that God’s Word brings to us:

7 Things God’s Word Brings Into Our Lives:

Freedom

God’s Word Liberates Us:

“So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.” – John 8:31 AMPC

Cleansing

God’s Word Cleanses Us:

“You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you].” – John 15:3 AMPC

Restoration

God’s Word Restores Us:

“So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save (sozo: restore and make whole) your souls.” – James 1:21 NLT

Strength

God’s Word Builds Us Up:

“And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” – Acts 20:32 ESV

Growth

God’s Word Brings Spiritual Growth:

“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” – 1 Peter 2:2 NKJV

Equipping

God’s Word Equips Us for Our Purpose:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV

Profit

God’s Word Profits Us When We Believe:

“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” – Hebrews 4:2 KJV

I hope that these verses are an encouragement to you. Remember, the Bible teaches that we love God because He first loved us and we love MUCH because we have been forgiven MUCH! Know today that the same One who gave you Jesus loves you passionately right now in this moment. He is with you and He has an amazing plan for your future. 2019 is your year to GROW STRONG… your best is truly yet to come!

We love you and we are praying that 2019 will be your best year yet,
